All learners regardless of language should have access to arts education. In this presentation we highlight findings from a mixed-methods study that surveyed, interviewed, and observed art teachers in Massachusetts. We will share challenges art teachers identify with regard to equitable access to art education and also highlight art teachers and classrooms who have incorporated anti-racist pedagogy and culturally and linguistically responsive instructional practices and culturally sustaining and affirming curriculum.
