Holidays reflect the history and deep philosophical and spiritual values of each culture. Understanding the holidays that are important for your students and families demonstrates respect, builds trust, and supports students and families in maintaining their heritage. But, this information is not collected in your school information system. GATESOL President, Dr. Elizabeth Webb, will spotlight several important holidays, provide strategies for determining which holidays students in your school celebrate, and provide several helpful resources to support additional learning and planning.
